My Morning with God- Matthew 11:28

, Matthew 11:28 resonates deeply with the weight of my daily life: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (NIV). After decades of caring for patients, enduring long shifts, and witnessing both healing and heartbreak, I know what it means to feel weary—not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually.

I am currently in a place where I must depend on God’s direct leader ship. I must remain in a place where I can hear him and allow him to lead me into my next. I can do this comfortably because I can remember that I’ve been here before. I can rely on the fact that he brought me through before, and that he will do it again. I won’t pretend like it is a comfortable place. Change is often not comfortable. But without change nothing happens.

There are days when the burdens of the job seem insurmountable. The endless stream of needs, the pressure to make no mistakes, and the emotional toll of comforting grieving families can leave me drained. Yet, this verse reminds me that I am not meant to carry these burdens alone. Jesus invites me to come to Him—to lay down my exhaustion and find true rest in His presence. Please know there is a seat at this table for you too.

Taking His yoke means learning to trust Him with the outcomes I cannot control. It’s a gentle reminder that while my hands may care for others, it is God who heals. His yoke is light because He walks beside me, sharing the load. When I feel overwhelmed, I pause to pray: “Lord, help me find rest in You today.”

This verse is a lifeline for anyone feeling the weight of life’s demands. It’s not just an invitation; it’s a promise—a promise of rest for our souls. Let us lean into that promise daily, knowing we are never alone in our labor.

Dear Heavenly Father we come to you the author and finisher of our faith. Alpha and Omega, the beginning in the end. We thank you so much for your Word. It provides such comfort and rest to our very souls and our spirits rise to meet it, giving us strength and guidance. We realize that this invitation that you’ve given us to come to you gives us a clear path directly into a place of peace and comfort. When the heaviness of every day life rest upon us, we can truly cast our cares upon you because your word tells us that you care for us. As we meet the challenges of every day life, we will trust that you will intervene and lift up a standard against all that comes against us. My Lord as we approach these new areas in our life we will trust that, even though we can’t see the future, we know you can, and that you have a plan for us that is for our good and for the uplifting of your kingdom. We ask that you cover us with the blood of Jesus, which has already been shared for us, for when the enemy sees the blood he hast to pass over, we give you praise , honor and we give you the glory because it already belongs to you and it is due to you. We ask that you create in us a clean heart and renew a right spirit within us. Amen.
